Explore Europe’s television heritage

EUscreen is a unique showcase of Europe’s television heritage. Beforehand access to audiovisual archives, television in particular, remained fractured and scattered, due to a lack of interoperability both at the level of metadata and semantics.

EUscreen aimed at achieving a highly interoperable digitised collection of television material. It has been set up by a partnership of 34 partners from 19 European countries and has enormous impact in providing access to television heritage and it played an important role in the advancement of the European Digital Library.

Deutsche Welle was a content partner and contributed to validation and dissemination.

The project ran from Oct 2009 – Sep 2012
