Event Understanding through Multimodal Social Stream Interpretation
EUMSSI aims to develop technologies for identifying and aggregating unstructured data with different levels of granularity from both new and traditional media sources. The planned multimodal search will focus on high-level semantic, conceptual and event-centered representation while allowing for strong interoperability and interactive reinforcement of the data aggregation.
The resulting platform will be potentially useful for any application in need of cross-media data analysis and interpretation, such as intelligent content management systems, personalized recommendation, real time event tracking, content filtering, etc.
Deutsche Welle is a user partner and develops the journalistic use case. It will also lead the user requirements analysis and contribute to user validation and dissemination tasks.
The project runs from December 2013 – November 2016.
