DW News is now being broadcast once every day on the public broadcasting channel WHUT-TV in Washington DC. The new partnership is the third for DW News in the US capital along with the channels MHz 11 and MHz Worldview. WHUT can be received by around 2.4 million households.
At the Cable TV Equipments Traders & Manufacturers Association (CTMA) trade fair in Kolkata, India, DW added 30 new partners and extended numerous contracts with Bangladeshi channels rebroadcasting DW’s English channel in Bangladesh. The CTMA trade fair in east India is a magnet for the Bangladeshi broadcasting industry. The partnerships will bring DW to an estimated 1 million households in Bangladesh.
An Indian news website, the Wire Urdu, is including content from DW Urdu. The Wire is one of India’s most respected online news providers. Their newly launched Urdu service already has over 100,000 visitors every month.
DW has a new VOD partner in Thailand. Hollywood HDTV will broadcast DW’s English channel to a estimated 150,000 customers.
After a new agreement recently with the IPTV and DTH platform MEO, DW (Deutsch) will be available to 700,000 subrscribers in Portugal. MEO is operated by Portugal Telecom. The new partnership expands the current cooperation with DW’s English channel, which currently has 1 million subscribers.
Also in Portugal, DW is now available in English and German in 75,000 hotel rooms across the country.

DW is providing a wider selection of Russian-language programming in parts of Russia, all of central Asia, the Caucuses, Turkey and the Middle East via broadcasting partner NEXT TV. The partner will rebroadcast DW’s Russian news broadcast, DW Novosti, along with the political talk show Nemtsova.Interview and a subtitled version of the lifestyle program Euromaxx. DW’s Russian-language programming provides the region with a valuable, independent perspective on important global news, something which is lacking in Russian media.
DW will be coproducing the science program Tomorrow Today in Vietnam in cooperation with local partner Vietnam Television (VTV). The show will be broadcast weekly in Vietnamese with DW branding and will be available across the country
A DW livestream is now available on mobile devices via Hong Kong-based partner CMC WiseMe in Malaysia, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam and Taiwan.
DW’s partnership with South African media conglomerate MultiChoice has taken on a wider scope. DW’s German language channel DW (Deutsch) is now available via MultiChoice in 50 countries throughout the continent. Eco@Africa, DW’s program covering environmental innovation in Africa and Europe has a new coproduction partner in Africa. KTN, the second-largest channel in the Kenya is joining Nigerian broadcaster Channels TV as a coproduction partner. Now with pan-African coverage, the show will be hosted by anchors from both channels.
DW has started a partnership with Globo, the largest media company in Brazil and the second-largest media conglomerate in the world. Since late October, DW articles have been featured on Globo’s news website, G1, and have already generated thousands of page views.
Leading Turkish telecommunications provider Turkcell is now carrying the programming lineup from DW and DW (Deutsch) for its IPTV and OTT platform, Turkcell TV Plus. Over 1 million users subscribe to the service on Smart TV, Web TV, IPTV and mobile devices.
DW’s science program in Indonesia, Inovator, is being broadcast by the terrestrial broadcaster Satelit TV. The latest episode of the show will be broadcast twice weekly in the region around Purkowtero on the island of Java to around 100,000 households.

DW’s popular lifestyle magazine Euromaxx will soon be adapted for Malaysian audiences after a coproduction agreement between DW and Malaysia’s largest media group, TM Net. In 2016 and 2017, 52 regionally adapted episodes of Euromaxx will be broadcast across Malaysia on Hypp Sensasi, a network operated by TM Net.
In Pakistan, DW television and radio content is now being carried on two newly aquired partners. Three Star Cable is broadcasting DW’s English-language channel to more than 60,000 subscribers. Radio partner Highway FM is broadcasting DW news bulletins in Urdu at 6:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. local time.
DW and DW (Deutsch) are now available via Optus B D2 satellite on Puma TV, an international TV channel broadcasting in Oceania.
DW is increasing its reach in Latin America with a new broadcasting partnership.
