A forum for women to talk to women

Announcing the winner of the blog contest

Dear readers, thank you very much for the enthusiastic response we received for our blog competition announced in June. It was very exciting to know what you think about education and the kind of experiences you have had at school.

We are pleased to announce the winner of our blog competition that we announced during the DW Global Media Forum: Jahantab Faiz’s blog on how her school was ravaged when the Taliban took over her city in Afghanistan. The Women Talk Online team really enjoyed this blog and felt inspired by it, but some of the other ones were really good too.

Out of the entries that we received, the best have been published on our website. We would particularly like to mention the blogs on Kashmir, which gave us new insights into the life of women in the valley. Our Indian bloggers also contributed funny anecdotes about their schools and helped to remind us of how much fun is also a part of going to school.

And to our bloggers, who did not win an iPod, keep watching our page. We will soon announce more competitions on new themes. So let your creativity flow!
