DW’s the Bobs competition 2015 (#thebobs15) has given an award to the Mukto Mona blog, which means ‘freethinker’ in English. One of the bloggers of the group blogging site, Rafida Ahmed Bonya, will receive the award on June 23, 2015 at GMF (#dw_gmf). We will follow her during the visit and will include regular updates about her. So stay with us!

They are courageous, creative and inspiring: The Bobs 2013 jury winners came to Deutsche Welle’s Global Media Forum to receive their awards, two of them for projects focused on women’s rights.

Deutsche Welle’s Best of Blogs Awards 2013, better known as the Bobs, has come to a close and the winners have been announced. The nominees for this year’s prize included several multimedia projects, such as the blog “Morsi Meter” from Egypt which measures whether President Morsi is fulfilling his electoral promises or not.  Women Talk Online spoke to Ute Schaeffer, Deutsche Welle’s chief editor and asked her how women’s blogs fared in the Bobs this year.

Infolady – the short form for “information lady” is a revolutionary concept that has provided thousands of Bangladeshi women the much-desired freedom and chance to use modern technologies. The infolady project is one of the winners in the Deutsche Welle Bobs awards for the category, “Global Media Forum Award.”
