إتفاق برلين حول السودان وجنوب السودان

إدراكاً للحاجة بضرورة تعميق التفاهم بين صحافيي السودان وجنوب السودان، التقينا نحن، مجموعة من إعلاميي البلدين،

من 17 وحتى 21 سبتمبر 2012 في العاصمة الألمانية برلين، تحت رعاية أكاديمية دويتشه فيله،

وذلك لمناقشة ما نعتبرها قضايا قد تفرق بيننا.

وبعد محادثات مطولة وجدنا أن هنالك الكثير من القضايا المشتركة بيننا.

لكن هناك احتياجات كثيرة ينبغي القيام بها لتعميق التفاهم والتعاون بين الصحافيين.

وفي هذا السياق نطرح التوصيات التالية:

• إطلاق حوار إعلامي شامل، يضم جميع المعنيين في المجال الإعلامي من البلدين، بهدف تعزيز الدور الإيجابي والبنّاء لوسائل الإعلام بشأن جميع المسائل ذات الصلة بعلاقات حسن الجوار والعلاقات الأخوية.

• نسعى للعمل على إيجاد أجندة إعلامية مشتركة، من شأنها أن تمكّن الصحافيين من تحمل مسؤولياتهم

من أجل تعزيز السلام والتنمية في كلا البلدين.

• ندعو إلى تبني مجموعة قواعد أخلاقية تنضوي على المهنية وتبتعد عن التمييز والعنصرية ولغة الكراهية والتحريض.

• تعزيز مبادئ التسامح والتعايش السلمي في كلا البلدين.

• نجدد تأكيدنا على حق حرية التعبير والصحافة، وعلى ضرورة وقف انتهاكات تلك الحقوق.

• ندعو إلى تبادل الزيارات من السودان وجنوب السودان بهدف تبادل الأفكار والخبرات.

• ندعو الصحافيين من كلا البلدين للتركيز على القضايا الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية بدلاً من المسائل السياسية.

• ينبغي الشروع بالأنشطة المشتركة من أجل تحقيق تفاهم أفضل.

• ندعو مؤسسة دويتشه فيله وجميع أصدقاء السودان وجنوب السودان إلى مواصلة دعم الجهود الرامية إلى تقريب البلدين من بعضهما البعض.

Aware of the need to bring closer understanding between Sudanese and South Sudanese journalists, we  a number of media practitioners from the two countries met from 17 – 21 September 2012 in Berlin-Germany under the auspices of the Deutsche Welle Akademie to discuss what we consider issues that tend to divide us.

After much discussion we found that we share a lot in common but more needs to be done to bring better understanding and cooperation among journalists.

We hereby present the following recommendations –

• To launch a comprehensive media dialogue involving media stakeholders from the two countries to enhance the positive and constructive role of the media on all issues related to good neighborliness and brotherly ties.
• We want to work towards creating a common media agenda which would enable journalists to shoulder their responsibility in promoting peace and development in both countries.
• We call for the adoption of a code of ethics that addresses professionalism and safeguards against discrimination, racism, hatred and inflammatory language.
• To strengthen the principles of tolerance and peaceful co-existence in both countries.
• We reaffirm he right of freedom of expression and the press and the halting of violations of these rights.
• We call for the exchange of visits by media practitioners from Sudan and South Sudan to exchange ideas and expertise.
• We call on journalists from both countries to focus on social, economic, cultural issues rather than on political matters.
• Joint activities should be initiated to bring better understanding
• We call on DW and all friends of Sudan and South Sudan to continue to support efforts at bringing the two countries closer together
