One of Vietnam’s top DTH providers has expanded its partnership with DW. Premium subscribers of the broadcaster K+ can now register for the new OTT bouquet My K+, which provides content on tablet, smartphone or desktop. DW’s complete English television program is available on this new service, which features over 850,000 subscribers.

Jak TV in Jakarta and Medan, Indonesia is broadcasting DW’s Indonesian science program Inovator. JakTV reaches an estimated audience of 12 million on UHF, VHF and cable.

News bulletins from DW Urdu are being broadcast by Super FM in Bahawalpur, Pakistan five times every day to an audience of up to 800,000 listeners.

Nan Kuo Cable, a cable provider based in Taiwan’s second-largest city Kaoshiung, now carries DW’s English channel in its entirety.

Latin America

DW’s Ecuadorian partner, Ecuador TV, will now broadcast the Spanish-language version of DW’s environmental program, Global 3000. Ecuador TV is available via cable and satellite to 3 million households across the country.

A new Puerto Rican news website with over 10 million monthly page views, El Nuevo Día, is featuring DW’s Spanish-language articles for users in the USA and Puerto Rico.

The DW app has generated over 1 million downloads in the first six months since its release. The app is also among the top-ranking news apps in the Google Play Store charts for target markets like Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana and Pakistan.

South America

Chile’s leading television channel, T13, is a new DW partner and the channel’s website now includes Spanish news content from DW. T13’s is one of the most trusted sources of news in the Chilean media landscape and their online presence reflects this standard of quality. The website currently records over 5 million users and is expanding on mobile devices and social media.

Asia

DW’s English channel is now available on the Bangladeshi multi-system provider DigiJadoo as a part of its basic package. The multi-system provider serves all major cities in Bangladesh and has over 7 million subscribers.

DW is now available on three cable providers in Taiwan. NCDT, NTC-TWT and New Changhua Cable provide three provinces with international channels.

America

DW’s English channel has a new full-time partner in the USA. Ventura Broadcasting based in Fresno, California will be providing the channel on its free-to-air service to around 100,000 households.

Latin America

DW presented the winners of a multimedia journalism competition with their prizes in Colombia at an awards ceremony held at DW’s Colombian partner station, Señal Colombia, in Bogotá. The contest received a lot of attention from Colombian media and the awards ceremony was attended by many prominent journalists and media producers. Two grand prize winners received a trip to Bonn for the Global Media Forum and four others also received prizes. Around 60 participants competed in the contest which was centered on environmental and ecological issues. The contest ran from the end of last year to April and was divided into video and print categories.

Asia

DW has a new web TV partner in India. Zenga TV, one of India’s leading portals for TV live streams will now carry the English-language channel, DW. The channel is also available via Zenga on mobile devices. The service currently has 21 million registered subscribers.

Indonesia’s largest pay-TV platform, Indovision, is now including DW in its expanded IPTV service, Playmedia. The provider expects to draw 1.5 million new subscribers with the service.

The Taiwanese cable provider Digidom will now carry the English-language channel, DW. The provider delivers local and international TV channels to Taipei.

Asia
DW-TV ASIA+ is now available for the first time via direct-to-home in Mongolia. Deutsche Welle recently signed a contract with DDishTV, which will make DW-TV ASIA+ available nationwide, 24 hours per day. DDishTV is the only direct-to-home provider in Mongolia, providing its 50,000 subscribers with 20 channels using the Apstar 5 satellite.

DW-TV ASIA+ has also been integrated into two additional cable packages in Taiwan. SAN DA CATV has more than 83,000 subscribers and offers about 50 channels in Changhua. And Kuo Shen Cable has around 50,000 subscribers and is available in Zhongpu and the Chiayi province.

In addition, euromaxx and Arts.21 are now being shown in the line-up from OKTO – the public broadcaster in Singapore. OKOT is available nationwide over terrestrial satellite, satellite, cable and DVB-T.

Europe
Deutsche Welle has been working with the Turkish television channel TV8 since the end of July 2011. Now, this cooperation has been expanded to include video-phone services. DW journalists from the Turkish department deliver expert commentary twice a week via video phone and are included as a live feed during TV8’s morning news program.

DW has also signed a deal with “UPC Magyarország” – the largest cable operator in Hungary. DW-TV will now be included in the digital package “Európa csomag”, with eight other European channels.
