India rape deaths case of suicide, says investigative agency

The sight of two young girls hanging from a tree in Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun in May, horrified the country and drew reactions from across the world. Thirty years ago, on Dec. 3, 1984, an enormous 40-ton plume of poisonous gas escaped from a Union Carbide (DOW) insecticide plant in Bhopal, India.
