Women steal the show at the MTV awards 2014
Women came out tops at the MTV Video Music Awards which took place in Los Angeles earlier this week. Check out the highlights!
Miley Cyrus
Pop diva Miley Cyrus won Video of the Year for “Wrecking Ball” at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards. The music video for “Wrecking Ball” was directed by fashion photographer Terry Richardson and shows the 21-year-old singer in skin-tight white underwear and cropped top, swinging suggestively from a wrecking ball.
Beyonce
Beyonce closed the awards show with an epic nearly 20-minute performance. She sang and danced in a metallic leotard. As Beyonce accepted the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award at The Forum in Inglewood, California, she kissed her daughter and husband Jay Z, who called her the “greatest living entertainer.”
Katy Perry
Katy Perry won the best female video award for her song Dark Horse featuring rapper Juicy J.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande won the award for the Best Pop Video for her song “Problem” featuring Iggy Azalea.
Lorde
New Zealand’s Lorde won the Best Rock Video for “Royals.” The song won the Grammy for Song of the Year and Best Pop Single this year in January.
