#Solidarityisforwhitewomen is a hashtag that has been recently trending on Twitter. Some are calling it a Twitter fight among feminists and others see it as an opportunity for debate and discussion about race, gender and priviledge, intersectionality  and inclusion of non-white women in feminism.

How did it start?

The rise of the middle class in Asian countries and the influx of educated women at workplaces have stirred a continuous debate about the role of women in a rapidly industrializing society. China is no exception. Ambitious Chinese women are breaking the boundaries- and facing the consequences.

No one in this world can match the amount of patience and benevolence a woman bestows upon those she loves. Then why are women living in such deplorable and appalling conditions? Women have always been subjected to violence at the hands of their male counterparts in almost every part of the globe. What is it that makes men behave in such a contemptible way towards women?

Any Muslim who has traveled around the world knows that it’s difficult to get Halal meat in many countries. On international trips you either become a vegetarian or can enjoy sea food if it’s available. In my recent travels to Yangoon, Beijing and Tokyo I enjoyed delicious vegetarian and sea food meals but by the end of my trip I was longing for chicken tikka, mutton karahi and beef kababs.
