Escape alive!
Zinda Bhaag (which literally means “Escape alive”) is a Pakistani film that has been nominated by Pakistan for the Oscars. It is the first Pakistani film in over fifty years that has been submitted for the “Foreign Language Film Award” category. The film has been written and directed by Farjad Nabi and Meenu Gaur. Rape: how many times?
The Viqarunnisa Noon School is one of the most prestigious and well-known educational institution for girls in Bangladesh. In July 2011, the school witnessed an incident of rape. According to reports, Parimal Jaydhar, a teacher at this school, had been harassing a student sexually and blackmailing her when she went to his house for private tuitions. He recorded these instances on video and also threatened to post these videos on the internet if she were to go and report his abuse to the police. However, the girl decided to complain to her parents, following which her father filed a case against the teacher.

Pakistan’s first female fighter pilot
Ayesha Farooq made a big name as the first female fighter pilot in Pakistan and South Asia. Her achievement was widely covered by the national and the international media. While speaking exclusively to Deutsche Welle, the 26-year old-woman from Bahawalpur, a small district of Pakistan, said, “I always wanted to wear a uniform and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) gave me this opportunity. Now I am serving Pakistan on the front lines”.
