Education for all

Five bloggers, five countries, one dialogue

Pavel from Russia

“An education that’s good forever doesn’t exist,” says Pavel. Instead, he regards education as a lifelong pursuit and the key to success and contentment. Pavel studied English and business management in Smolensk and began teaching English to teenagers at the same time. Along the way, he learned a lot from dealing with his often disruptive and rebellious students – like how to negotiate and assert himself effectively. Today, Pavel continues to work at the same language school he attended ten years ago. As a teacher, Pavel is very critical of the Russian school system, particularly in rural areas where schools have poor equipment and teachers receive low salaries.
