Millions of women across the world have been sharing their experiences of sexual harassment and abuse in an online campaign using the hashtag #MeToo on Twitter and with rolling posts on Facebook. The hashtag has been trending in Pakistan too.

Despite having a raft of measures to prevent gender-based crimes in Cambodia, women continue to face rampant sexual abuse and harassment. Experts say strict implementation of laws is needed to curb the problems.

A few months ago some women from Islamabad (Pakistan) organized a conference to raise awareness about rape and sexual assault. This conference was organized in one of the universities in Islamabad by the collaboration of “Gender And Woman Studies” department professionals. People from different walks of life attended the conference including politicians, teachers, students and social workers. The basic purpose of this conference was to raise awareness about the rape and harassment.

India’s image in the world is synonymous with the Taj Mahal, the snake charmers and sexual violence. It is nothing new to hear of another incident of harassment, as it is common knowledge that the women in India are regularly subjected to inappropriate touching, sexual harassment, eve teasing and rape.

Tahrir Square was transformed into a huge party venue on Wednesday for those celebrating the ousting of President Morsi. Fireworks lit up the night sky and the crowds were ecstatic. This time, the battle was not against a dictator but against a democratically elected government. President Morsi was overthrown by the military with the support of the people who had resolved not to let Islamists take over their country.  He pushed to impose Islamist views of the Muslim Brotherhood and this was against what the Egyptian liberals stood for. So they took to the streets and called for a revolution. However, this revolution has a dark side.

Egalcops has been conceived as an online system where women can lodge complaints against harassment. The founder, Deepanshu Tripathi, believes that women would be more comfortable putting in their complaints online rather than going to a police station in India.
