Arifa Noor, resident editor of ‘Dawn’, a daily newspaper published from Islamabad, Pakistan, describes her role as a woman journalist in the following words: “It’s my job to think differently – on war, on politics, on crime and everything else that is covered by the paper I edit. I am here to provide diversity, to celebrate difference. Women are not here [the media] to be limited to a topic or an issue. We are here and we are the difference.”

For a few days from Sunday to Wednesday the Indian media clamored about the need for stringent laws to ensure safety for women and speed up the justice process for the victim! A prank call and a suicide
A prank call by Australian radio presenters who pretended to be the Queen and Prince Charles has caused a huge uproar. They tried to inquire about the Duchess’s condition and were successful with their hoax. Kate was admitted in the King Edward VII Hospital complaining of acute morning sickness. The presenters were connected by the nurse on duty to Kate’s nurse who then gave a detailed account of Kate’s health. The nurse, Jacintha Saldanha, who put the DJs through to Kate’s nurse, committed suicide.

But few know that the woman’s Twenty20 tournament takes place around the same time every year.
