DW’s popular Indonesian science magazine, Inovator, is being broadcast by even more Indonesian partners. TV9 Nusantara in Surabaya, TirtaTV in Tangerang, JayaTV in Papua and JakTV in Jakarta und Medan are including a weekly episode of the popular show in their lineup. Select episodes are also available on-demand.
Iflix, Asia’s largest OTT provider, is a new DW partner with on-demand content from DW in English being provided to 15 million households in 30 Asian countries, including India, Pakistan and Indonesia. Along with linear TV, Iflix also includes series from DW’s documentary catalogue, DW Transtel.
The Singapore-based OTT platform HOOQ is now carrying a DW English HD livestream that is available in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, India and the Philippines. The service also includes a subtitle function for DocFilm documentaries. The HOOQ app has around 30 million downloads and in Indonesia alone, it has 2 million users.
The Karachi-based cable providers Lucky Seven and Luvis Cable, along with New Grand Dera Ghazi, New Links Peshawar, New Eagle Rawalpindi will broadcast DW’s English TV channel as part of their basic packages. Together the partners reach 60,000 households in Pakistan.
Europe
Starting in October, Telenor Norway will include DW in its TV lineup. Based in Fornebu near Olso, the broadcaster reaches 520,000 households.
The largest streaming service in Europe, Zattoo, is streaming all four of DW’s television channels. Zattoo has over 20 million subscribers.

At MIPTV 2017 in Cannes, storytelling is taking center stage. At the core is content that connects with audiences using timeless elements that draw audiences in and capture their interest and imagination.
DW Transtel is sharing the best in factual entertainment covering a variety of topics. Coming from a more serious angle, Migration Millennium examines how migration is changing the world with stories that uncover ugly truths and bitter challenges faced by migrants struggling to improve their lives. By using storytelling to personalize a broad issue, the series can shed a unique light on the issue.

DW building new partnerships at MIPCOM 2016
One of the world’s largest entertainment conferences, MIPCOM brings together media professionals from around the world for four days of sharing ideas about the future of the industry. Representatives from DW and DW Transtel are currently at the 2016 conference to meet with partners, create new connections and showcase the best of DW’s programming.

Composers of Genius lets music lovers discover the lives of musical masters through the cities, people and places that touched their lives and helped them shape their genius.

Asia
Over 100 hours of high-quality documentary content from DW Transtel have been acquired by the Chinese educational video program supplier “Wuhan Yuanlai Educational“, which provides video on-demand for universities and schools across the nation. Now millions of students in China can easily download general knowledge and cultural documentaries from DW Transtel. The English and German-language programming will be provided with subtitles in Mandarin Chinese.
DW’s automotive program Drive it! is being now carried by the Indonesian pay TV network K-Vision. The program will be shown with Indonesian subtitles on the “Otomotif” channel, which reaches 450,000 households across the country.
The Pakistani cable television broadcaster, Webcom PTV is now a DW partner and will provide 20,000 subscribers in Islamabad with DW’s English channel.
Online
DW is now broadcasting its English channel live on YouTube, thereby becoming one of the first international news channels to make use of this feature.
Online articles in English from dw.com are now being included amongst a wide variety of content from quality international news and information outlets on RealClearWorld. The news website from the USA features coverage, opinion and analysis of current events from around the world. It attracts 5.9 million unique visitors every month.
A consortium of international broadcasters recently met at DW’s headquarters in Bonn to discuss internet censorship. The DG 7 Internet Freedom Group brought together experts from the BBC, BBG, FMM, RNW and DW for two days to exchange ideas and discuss the importance of freedom of information online.

DW’s critical talk format Nemtsova.Interview is now being broadcast by NewsOne in the Ukraine. According to Nielsen, NewsOne is ranked amongst the most popular channels in the country.
DW finds new opportunity in Cannes
The MIPTV conference in Cannes is one of the most important media industry events worldwide, bringing together executives and content producers to make deals and exchange ideas. Representatives from DW Transtel along with DW producers were in Cannes this year to discuss potential new coproduction projects and negotiate new content partnerships.
Two DW Transtel productions Art Beats and Farming for the Planet were highlights at MIPTV this year. The high-quality documentary productions from DW Transtel offer international partners a wide variety of content ranging from nature and science documentaries to culture and history. Another trend seen at this year’s MIP TV is the growth of online and mobile productions, which are a growing complement to traditional television formats.
