DW’s English channel is once again available on the leading Malaysian Pay TV provider ASTRO. Around 1 million subscribers can now access DW on the providers OTT platform Astro Go.

The Vietnamese cable provider HTV-TMS in Ho Chi Minh City is providing DW’s English channel to 600,000 subscribers.

DW’s partner in Thailand PSI is broadcasting Tomorrow Today, Global 3000, Drive It, In Good Shape and Euromaxx to an estimated 18 million households.

In cooperation with premium partner LINK TV, a two-hour DW special analyzing the “State of the Union Address” was broadcast nationwide in the US. The DW special delivered a unique European perspective on the US president’s speech. LINK TV specializes in international programming and is broadcast to an estimated 34 million households around the US.

Latin America

Over 40 DW reports from the Berlinale Film Festival and the Munich Security Conference were broadcast in prime time by DW Premium Now partners with the largest audience shares in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru. The partners praised the smooth and efficient workflow of their DW distribution partners.

Asia

DW has a new online partner in Nepal. The English-language news website Kathmandu Tribune will soon begin including online content from DW English.

North America

DW News is now being broadcast once every day on the public broadcasting channel WHUT-TV in Washington DC. The new partnership is the third for DW News in the US capital along with the channels MHz 11 and MHz Worldview. WHUT can be received by around 2.4 million households.

Asia

At the Cable TV Equipments Traders & Manufacturers Association (CTMA) trade fair in Kolkata, India, DW added 30 new partners and extended numerous contracts with Bangladeshi channels rebroadcasting DW’s English channel in Bangladesh. The CTMA trade fair in east India is a magnet for the Bangladeshi broadcasting industry. The partnerships will bring DW to an estimated 1 million households in Bangladesh.

An Indian news website, the Wire Urdu, is including content from DW Urdu. The Wire is one of India’s most respected online news providers. Their newly launched Urdu service already has over 100,000 visitors every month.

DW has a new VOD partner in Thailand. Hollywood HDTV will broadcast DW’s English channel to a estimated 150,000 customers.

Europe

After a new agreement recently with the IPTV and DTH platform MEO, DW (Deutsch) will be available to 700,000 subrscribers in Portugal. MEO is operated by Portugal Telecom. The new partnership expands the current cooperation with DW’s English channel, which currently has 1 million subscribers.

Also in Portugal, DW is now available in English and German in 75,000 hotel rooms across the country.

Latin America

Euromaxx has a new broadcasting partner in South America.  The Colombian TV channel Cablenoticias will be broadcasting DW’s popular culture and lifestyle program in Spanish five days a week. The channel is carried by over 800 TV providers with a potential combined audience of 7.48 million households on two continents. Cablenoticias is available via broadcasting partners throughout Central America, the USA, Mexico and 8 South American countries.

Asia

Learning by Ear has a new broadcasting partner in Afghanistan. Radio Azad is now broadcasting the educational radio program in Dari and Pashto. The station, located in the northern province of Balkh, is Learning by Ear’s 16th partner in Afghanistan.

DW has a new broadcasting partner in Pakistan’s largest metropolis, Karachi. Star Cable Network is now broadcasting DW’s English TV channel to around 50,000 households.

Online

The DW Smart TV app is now available via the Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) on all Sony smart TV models produced after 2013. With Sony’s 15 percent market share in connected TVs, the partnership will deliver multilingual DW content live and on-demand to an expanded global audience. The DW Smart TV app is also set to be implemented on Android TV platforms in the future.

Ukraine’s most popular news and information website, Obozrevatel.com, now includes a DW section featuring full-text articles covering social, political and economic issues from the region and the world. The Russian-language articles, which also link to dw.de, include an imbedded code to keep track of user numbers. Obozrevatel.com receives over 30 million visits and 90 million page impressions every month.

The new DW series Focus on Europe is now being aired by the Latvian public broadcaster, LTV. The program will be broadcast in English with Latvian subtitles. LTV has been a DW partner since 2012.

Asia

DW’s English TV programming is now being carried by Sri Lanka’s largest cable network, Lanka Broadband Network (LBN). LBN’s coverage area includes the capital, Colombo and the cities of Jaffna and Trincomalee.

Digicel media venture, Papua New Guinea’s first digital television provider,  is now carrying DW’s English TV channel. The provider broadcasts using DVB-T, cable or satellite and plans to expand in the region.
