In cooperation with premium partner LINK TV, a two-hour DW special analyzing the “State of the Union Address” was broadcast nationwide in the US. The DW special delivered a unique European perspective on the US president’s speech. LINK TV specializes in international programming and is broadcast to an estimated 34 million households around the US.

Latin America

Over 40 DW reports from the Berlinale Film Festival and the Munich Security Conference were broadcast in prime time by DW Premium Now partners with the largest audience shares in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru. The partners praised the smooth and efficient workflow of their DW distribution partners.

Asia

DW has a new online partner in Nepal. The English-language news website Kathmandu Tribune will soon begin including online content from DW English.

Digital_Heroes_Mozambique

Africa

In December, DW organized a blogging event for “Digital Influencers” in Mozambique. The goal of the event in Maputo was to get to know the digital scene in Mozambique better, to form a network of likeminded thinkers and to meet new potential partners. The most important topics from the event were social networks, citizen journalism and the pros and cons of digital platforms. The event was broadcast on Facebook Live.

In Congo, Afrika TV and Canal Numérique Télévision will be broadcasting DW radio programming in French and Kiswahili.

The newly formed Community Radio Association in Cameroon, which was supported by DW, has also led to 10 new radio partners.

The television channels First Digital, GHone, EBN (Eclipse Broadcasting Network) and NET2 TV are now broadcasting DW programs in Ghana.

 

Asia

DW has five new partners in Pakistan for its English channel: Systak Cable Network and Shaheen Tel Cable Network in Islamabad, Sky Vision International Cable Network in Multan, Showtime CATV Network in Karachi und Rose Plus Communications in Hasanabdal.

Topas TV is now broadcasting DW’s science program for the Indonesian-speaking market, Inovator.

 

Latin America

The Chilean broadcaster TVU has integrated several DW programs into its lineup, including Euromaxx, Todo gol, Global 3000, Visión futuro und Patrimonio mundial. TVU is a terrestrial broadcaster with a technical reach of 1.5 million viewers.

The DW app has generated over 1 million downloads in the first six months since its release. The app is also among the top-ranking news apps in the Google Play Store charts for target markets like Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana and Pakistan.

South America

Chile’s leading television channel, T13, is a new DW partner and the channel’s website now includes Spanish news content from DW. T13’s is one of the most trusted sources of news in the Chilean media landscape and their online presence reflects this standard of quality. The website currently records over 5 million users and is expanding on mobile devices and social media.

Asia

DW’s English channel is now available on the Bangladeshi multi-system provider DigiJadoo as a part of its basic package. The multi-system provider serves all major cities in Bangladesh and has over 7 million subscribers.

DW is now available on three cable providers in Taiwan. NCDT, NTC-TWT and New Changhua Cable provide three provinces with international channels.

America

DW’s English channel has a new full-time partner in the USA. Ventura Broadcasting based in Fresno, California will be providing the channel on its free-to-air service to around 100,000 households.

DW is now available on the OTT platform YuppTV, which is comparable to portals like Hulu and Netflix. YuppTV will be including DW in its channel lineup and has more than 2 million registered users in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.
DW is now also being offered by the first IPTV provider in Nepal. New IT Venture (NITV) is the largest Internet provider and currently the only IPTV provider in Nepal with plans to expand nationwide.
The Mongolian broadcaster TM-TV will now be including Made in Germany, Global 3000, Drive It, Discover Germany and Euromaxx in its program.

Latin America
La Nación Chile has recently been added as a new online partner for DW. Since 2010, the renowned newspaper has been available as an online-only news source. It receives an average of 1.8 page visits per month and is among the most-visited websites in Chile. La Nación will be syndicating DW content including full articles.

America

The Chilean channel ARTV has noticeably increased the number of DW shows it broadcasts in the last month. A DW premium partner, ARTV is now showing Claves, Euromaxx and Cultura 21 in Spanish. ARTV is one of the most important DTH and cable platforms in Chile and reaches more than 2.5 million viewers.

Asia

The Indonesian video portal Okezone has included DW in its lineup. The video and streaming website, which is managed by cable giant Indovision, has started broadcasting DW’s English television channel. Okezone has more than 1 million potential users and offers livestreams of Indonesian and international channels as well as offering an on-demand package.

Sansar Cable in Mongolia is also broadcasting DW’s English television channel to its more than 80,000 households in the capitol city of Ulaan Bator.

DW has expanded its cooperation with Nine Six International Radio in Pakistan, which will now provide DW programming to three further stations on the border to Afghanistan. The stations will be broadcasting DW in Urdu. Also in Pakistan, DW has signed a new partnership with a web-radio provider. Pakistan Sounds will be broadcasting 12 programs and two language courses in Urdu, Pashtu and English.
